"Real" haircuts

I took the girls up to my hairdresser this morning for their first "real" other words, the first cuts that weren't done by yours truly! I think they look really cute. Olivia wanted to make sure their cuts were the same, "so we can be twins." Wonder how long she'll want that?!?!

Kansas City Band Trip

On May 20th-22nd we went with the band to Kansas City. The kids marched at Worlds of Fun, and then rode rides for the rest of the day. It was a great experience, and even Aaron and I had a blast!

As an added bonus, I got to see my childhood friends, Anne and Charlotte. Charlotte lives in KC, and Anne, who lives in Seattle, happened to be visiting that week! It worked out perfectly! It was so fun to just hang out for a few hours. It was definitely a highlight of the trip for me!

Paul and Miranda both did very well in the piano recital this year. I was proud of them!

The Four Little Fish

Olivia's class did a little play on the last Monday of school. It was so cute. It was a take-off of the Three Little Pigs--except it was the Four Little Fish.

When it was over, I caught this picture of Sonya and Olivia, peeking out of the "house" that Olivia built (she was the fourth little fish)

Spring Concert 2010

Receiving certificates for Sing Around Nebraska

Performing the song "Ja-Da" with the other kids who went to SAN.

I had the kindergarteners sing "Tooty ta," and I surprised the 6th graders by inviting them up to sing along....because when they were in Kindergarten many of them had done it at a concert. You can see that they're a little red in the face, but it was good for them, I think, and they're still speaking to me, so it's all good!

Kindergarten singing "5 Funky Little Monkeys"

Shakin' her maracas!

Sonya and some of her classmates. The boy next to Sonya--Michael--says he's going to marry her someday! Yikes!

Sonya was looking through a drawer a couple days ago and brought me this picture. She said, "look at this cute picture of me and Paul when we were little." I laughed and laughed, and said, "that's not you. Who do you think it is?" It took her a while, and she guessed Olivia first, but she finally guessed Miranda. When I see pictures from this era, I'm reminded how much they look alike. Of course, Miranda HATES to be told that!!!

Field Day 2010

Sonya competing in the sack race, with a smile on her face, of course!

And in the potato race.

Paul and Sonya got to race together, just for fun.

Waiting in the lunch line.

Paul's team won the tug-o-war. In the finals it came down to his team and Miranda's team, so mom had to stay neutral!

Paul in the 3-legged race.

Olivia sack-racing and concentrating very hard!

Olivia is a jump roper! She did 49 jumps in a minute, and her jump rope was a little long for her.

I was even able to capture Miranda's picture a couple of times! Here she is in the potato race.

And showing her form in the long jump. All 4 kids had a lot of fun, and the weather turned out to be much nicer than expected.
