This week was VBS. Aaron led games, and I was in the kitchen, which was a big change for me since I've done music since 1998! But it was kind of a nice change, and fun to hang out with adults instead of kids. Plus, being around food is a bonus! Here are just a few pictures from the week that other people took, since I could never seem to remember my camera!

Olivia and Allen...probably up to something, by the look on Olivia's face!

Sonya likes to have her picture taken lately, and she always tries to pose first.

Look what I made!!

Various and Sundry Happenings

Yesterday we had the piano recital. My 12 students performed, as well as Paul and Miranda and 2 guitar students who take from another teacher.

Miranda played Sonatina in C Major, by Clementi.

Paul played The Cuckoo by Daquin. They also played a duet.

We had AWANA awards night a couple weeks ago. As usual, I forgot my camera, but these are the awards that Paul and Miranda received for finishing their books. Olivia also finished her Cubbie book, and will go into Sparks next fall. We are so fortunate to have AWANA at our church. The kids love it, and I love the fact that they are learning verses each week.

Other than that, we are just finishing up the school year! Whew! No one could be more happy about that than I! Bring on the summer!

Spring Concert

We had our spring concert last night. It was kind of a marathon (in other words, loooong), but the kids did very well. I was pleased. I can honestly say that it probably stressed me out more than almost any concert I've ever done...not sure why, although it probably had to do with the fact that I had each group do a mini-musical, and those can definitely take a lot out of a person! Note to self: come back and read this post next spring when you're starting to decide what do do for the program!

Olivia's preschool class sang 3 songs (I don't direct them, and for that I am thankful!). This was, "I'm a Little Teapot."

Miranda playing her recorder.

Paul as the Emperor of China, in their musical, "The Nightingale."

Miranda in her musical, which was entitled, "Get in the Game."

Paul playing his 'bone.

W/P Field Day

We had field day today. It was fun watching Paul and Miranda compete.

Jump rope

Long jump

I just have one thing to say about Olivia and Sonya....Cinder track+wet grass+preschoolers=a huge mess....but they were happy.

3-legged race

80 yd. shuttle run

Another 3-legged race photo. C'mon, Paul, keep up!

Miranda was on a team where she was the only girl. She didn't complain, but I thought it was funny.

Weekend in Denver

We had the privilege of being chaperones for a great event that our youth group went to this past weekend. We, along with 2 other couples, took over 20 kids to Denver for Acquire the Fire. It was well worth it. You can see more about it on Renee's blog. I'm very thankful to the 3 families who kept our 4 kids!

Thanks, Renee, for thinking of taking this....Aaron and I are so bad about getting pictures taken together. I'm afraid that 20 years from now, we'll look back and only have about 5 pictures of us together--and that includes wedding pictures. That's how bad we are about it!

The kids who went. They were a lot of fun!

I got home and Olivia had a surprise for me--her first lost tooth! She was pretty proud!
